China’s State Council Information Office today issued updated draft guidelines for further strengthening government oversight of the Internet.
The trial operation of the convergence of the telecom, broadcasting, and the Internet networks in Beijing has now officially started.
The General Office of the State Council of China has published the list of the first batch of pilot regions and cities for the convergence of three networks, including the telecom network, the Internet network, and the broadcasting network.
During the Information and Communication Technology and Urban Development Forum, the first official forum of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, held in Ningbo, Zhejiang, an official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, revealed that China’s convergence of its three networks may cover all cities in three to five years.
