AN in-depth investigation published by Reuters over the weekend made the stunning revelation that for a period of more than a year at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the US Defense Department engaged in a large-scale psychological warfare operation using hundreds of fake social media accounts aimed at discrediting China and its Sinovac vaccine. The operation was largely directed at the Philippine audience and is thought to have played a significant role in promoting vaccine hesitancy here and, as a consequence, needless illnesses and deaths. Now that the US government has confirmed that the report is essentially correct, our government must demand that America answer for the damage it has caused.
