An inspiring contestant on Deal Or No Deal made an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain and left viewers emotional. Brave Brad Wale appeared on a recent episode of the revived gameshow – now airing on ITV1 – and shared details of his life with the life-limiting Motor Neurone Disease, reports the MEN.

Brad, from Shropshire, said he could have as little as two years left to live, telling host Stephen Mulhern how he wanted to win money to help fulfil some of his travel wishes and win enough on the show to leave some to his family and partner. However, he won just £5 on the show, leaving the studio audience and viewers at home devastated.

A GoFundMe appeal has since been launched by one of Brad’s fellow Deal Or No Deal contestants and, during his appearance on GMB, the total shot up to more than £60,000 as he fought tears talking about his diagnosis and how he had to come to terms with winning a fiver on the game show. Brad did turn things around when asked how he’d be spending the money.

“I’ve got one thing on my list, I’ve always wanted a Ben Shephard blanket,” he laughed to which host Susanna Reid replied: “You don’t need to spend any money on that, we’ve got a cupboard full of them. We will send one to you straight away.”

But his serious answer was that he’d love to fly to India and Thailand for a holiday of a lifetime. “It’s basically going to see places really, and I’ve always wanted to do a bungee jump,” Brad said. “I’ve always been skint and I feel honoured, blessed and guilty all at the same time – like I don’t like taking money off anyone.”

Getting tearful, he continued: “To be given this kindness to me is something I’d never, ever expect.” And Good Morning Britain viewers flocked to social media to comment on the emotional scenes and share their love and best wishes for Brad after he said he didn’t plan to do any more interviews as the experience has been overwhelming.

One said: “Had me crying last week and crying again this morning. What a lovely guy. He shouldn’t feel guilty at all, people have chosen themselves to donate. He hasn’t asked. Big hugs to him.” Another commented: “Aww what a lovely guy, didn’t expect to be crying this morning!”

A third shared: “#gmb Brad – What a brave man he is. Inspiring courage in the face of adversity. Fight on.” A fourth posted: “I can’t be getting this emotional in a morning. MND is such a cruel condition. I wish Brad all the best. I dont understand the obsession with Ben Shepherd though. #gmb.” Another added: “This is a story of pure humanity An example of kindness that shouldn’t be hard for any of us, even to a stranger Rochelle is pure gold. God bless Brad #gmb.”
