‘Coming to End (Emma) Raducanu’- ‘Beautiful’ Qinwen Zheng’s $12.5 Billion Power Move Sparks Fan Frenzy

Qinwen Zheng is stepping up in style! The Chinese tennis sensation isn’t just dominating the courts but is now making waves in the glamorous world of endorsements. In her latest triumph, Zheng has joined the prestigious house of Dior, following in the footsteps of Emma Raducanu. Fans are thrilled to see “Queen Wen” shine on a global stage, blending her athletic prowess with high-fashion elegance. But, as with any spotlight moment, there’s a twist. While Zheng basks in adoration, sharp comparisons are being drawn, and Emma Raducanu seems to be at the receiving end of some unexpected digs.

The French fashion confirmed its partnership with Zheng on Thursday. Notably, this comes soon after Zheng concluded a remarkable 2024 season, where she won not only the gold medal at the Paris Olympics but also the titles at Palermo and the Pan Pacific Open. The latest announcement quickly started making rounds on social media as well with fans and enthusiasts expressing their joy over the latest partnership. 

Taking to X, a user shared a string of pictures from Zheng’s photoshoot for the brand where she can be seen in a stunning all-black look. Captioning the post, the user wrote, “Zheng Qinwen is Dior’s new global ambassador.” As soon as the post gained traction, it led to a huge influx of her admirers in the comment section who could not help expressing their admiration for the player.

Several users took to social media to not just laud Zheng but also draw parallels with Raducanu. They went on to claim that this deal is not just the beginning of high-end endorsement deals for the Chinese star, but will also lead to an end of the partnership with Raducanu. 

Fans cannot help but swoon over Qinwen Zheng 

Taking to X, a user wrote, “Coming to end Raducanu once and for all.” The British tennis star joined forces with the House of Dior as an ambassador in 2021 reportedly in a £2 ($2.53 million) million partnership, which came after her wildcard US Open victory. However, with Zheng’s name being added to the list, fans believe that this might be the end of the luxury partnership for Emma Raducanu. More such reactions continued to follow. 

 

Responding to the post, another user speculated, “so is this a goodbye to emma? 🫣” While Dior has not yet confirmed a split with Raducanu, her continuous absence from the courts owing to injury woes has kept her away for weeks, making fans believe that many brands might just end ties with her. Remember, the star player played only 14 tournaments last season, besides the BJK Cup. This year, she was all set to participate in the ASB Classic, but another back injury forced her to withdraw, sparking wild reactions from fans.

Yet another user simply took a dig at Raducanu and wrote, “radacanu u in trouble girl.” While her prolonged absences might not impact her ties with Dior directly, they can have an impact on her personal brand value in the longer run. And Dior’s appreciation for Zheng might have further hurt her case.

Releasing a statement, Dior said, Zheng “embodies the elegance and boldness of Dior style, a femininity in perpetual motion.” Continuing further, the $12.5 billion brand shared, “More than ever, this unique alliance seals the house’s commitment to empowerment and self-assertion, spotlighting the multiple connections that unite the worlds of sport and couture.” Meanwhile, more users joined the fray to express their love for Zheng.

Out of all the tennis girls she wins at the endorsement level… with Coco. Get that BAG,” wrote another user. Indeed! Zheng has been reaching great heights in the world of tennis endorsements lately and has sponsorships from top brands like Nike, Lancome, Gatorade, Audi, Wilson, McDonald’s, Rolex, and more, as reported by Forbes. In 2024, she emerged as one of the world’s richest athletes, securing the 4th spot, according to Sportico. Notably, $15 million of her total $20.6 million earnings last year, came from her massive endorsement deals.

Another user took to the platform to laud Zheng’s beauty and wrote, “Face card NEVER declines oh she’s so beautiful!” Zheng’s beauty has received immense appreciation from her fans quite recently. Similar reactions came in from across the globe when the Chinese WTA Star graced the cover page of Vogue China magazine, making a huge statement. As the season evolves, it would be interesting to see if the breakout player continues taking giant leaps in the endorsement world and makes more statements through her off-court engagements as well as her on-court theatrics.
