Trevor Magallanes confirms split with Rufa Mae Quinto
MANILA, Philippines – Rufa Mae Quinto’s husband Trevor Magallanes confirmed that he and the comedian-actress are currently in the process of getting a divorce after eight years of marriage.
Magallanes posted a statement on his private Instagram story on the evening of Friday, December 13, in hopes of “explaining [himself] based on social media and all that.”
“I want to make myself clear that Rufa Mae and I are in the process of a divorce. You may be aware divorce can be very devastating to the children and also the parents. That being said, my marriage has been a shit show and I am sorry for that,” Magallanes wrote.
“All that matters [to] me at this time is getting through the divorce as best as I can and spending time with Athena. Happy holidays!” he added.
It can be recalled that days before Magallanes shared his statement, he also posted screenshots of his alleged conversations with Quinto. In the heated exchange, the pair were both going back and forth about their arrangement on taking care of their daughter, Athena.
Quinto and Magallanes got engaged in February 2016, and tied the knot in November of the same year while the former was pregnant with their daughter. Quinto gave birth to their daughter in February 2017.
Magallanes’ confirmation of his split from Quinto comes just weeks after it was revealed that the latter was facing 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code.
Magallanes is a Filipino-American financial analyst. Meanwhile, Quinto is an actress and comedian, whose latest onscreen appearances include Last One Laughing PH, the Filipino adaptation of a Japanese reality show.
As of this writing, Quinto has yet to comment on the issue. We will update this story once she issues a statement. – Rappler.com
