A Strictly Come Dancing professional has admitted rumours of a feud between him and another on the show are true. Carlos Gu has finally spoken out about his relationship with fellow dancer Nancy Xu.

The BBC One dance maestro has acknowledged their fallout for the first time. Nancy, 33, and Carlos, 31, were believed to have formed a close bond, having both grown up in China.

And while he admits they have fallen out, he still paid tribute to the strength of their bond. Carlos once referred to his colleague as his “favourite sister,” while Nancy affectionately called him “my baby brother”.

However, it was previously reported that the once inseparable Strictly Come Dancing pals had a significant falling out. The Sun on Sunday revealed that the pair had stopped following each other on social media and were not communicating backstage.

Speaking to The Mail, Carlos confessed: “We’re fine. We’ve been friends since childhood, and friends argue. We’re too close and are like brother and sister to completely fall out.”

This statement came after a show insider informed us that behind-the-scenes tensions had created an ‘awkward and tense’ environment for all the stars.

An insider shared: “The feud between Nancy and Carlos is really sad and has left everyone really shocked. They’ve been close since childhood, but have fallen out and unfollowed each other on socials.”

“The atmosphere on set is said to be awkward and tense when both are around, and to many it was a relief when Carlos didn’t attend the show weeks ago.

“Carlos is said to be subdued after the falling-out and is also struggling with not getting a celebrity partner. His friends are worried about him as he is so far away from his family.

“He has wiped all pictures of her from his profile and unfollowing each other on Instagram is the ultimate finality in their friendship.”
