Japanese people are globally known for their politeness and considerate nature. However, these qualities seem to extend beyond just humans in the Land of the Rising Sun. A video of a heartwarming encounter between an Indian woman and Japan’s iconic Nara deer has captured the internet’s attention.

An Indian digital content creator, Divya, shared a captivating video showcasing one of her travel diaries in Japan. In the clip, she is seen walking up to the Nara deer at a park. She greets the deer with a traditional Japanese bow, and the animal responds by mimicking the gesture.

In the video, the deer are seen reciprocating the bow gesture without fail. Divya is also shown gently patting the animals and feeding them.

The video was posted with a caption that read, ‘Japan’s Nara deer are the most coolest thing! While people say it’s in the DNA of the Nara deer to bow, I see the science of why. They bow because they know the simple old trick that they will be fed, think of it as dogs! I saw the deer in Miyajima and this behavior wasn’t spotted!”

The video soon went viral, garnering a range of reactions from people online.

Social media users also flooded the comment section with reactions to the deer’s sweet gestures towards the tourists. One user wrote, “Love the friendly deer in Nara and Miyajima.”

“Even animals in Japan know how to be polite,” commented another.

One more user pointed at Japan’s beautiful culture and penned, “Even the deer can show respect but kids nowadays are just like “What you looking attt!…”.”

“Wait, even deer in Japan bow their heads to people,” read a comment. “More civilised than humans fr,” mentioned a user.

The clip has amassed around 12.5 million views.

The viral video surely made many travel freaks put the deer park in Nara, Japan, on their bucket list.
