Xavier School hosts 2024 Sucere Basketball Cup, benefiting student scholarship fund

The Xavier Sucere Basketball Cup 2024 is set to hold its inaugural tournament from October 26 to 29 at the Florida Uytengsu and George K. Young Gymnasium in Xavier School San Juan.

The competition will feature 42 teams from Metro Manila, Iloilo, Bacolod, Zamboanga, Naga, Davao, Cebu, Pampanga, and Laguna across four age-group divisions. A total of P50,000 worth of cash and vouchers will be up for grabs in the 12-under, 14-under, 16-under, and 18-under categories of the tournament, which is supported by Sucere.

Xavier School will field teams from both its San Juan and Nuvali campuses, competing against some of the best school teams in the country for basketball supremacy.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Xavier School Educational Trust Fund (XSETF), established in 1966, which grants financial aid to deserving students. The fund follows the principle that “No student who is otherwise qualified should be deprived of a Xavier education solely for financial reasons.”

The Xavier Sucere Basketball Cup 2024 is supported by PGA Cars, Converge FiberX, Anta, Boysen, W Group Inc., Power Mac Center, Celsius, Koster, Predator, Wealthmore, MEC Network, George, East Ocean Palace, Clean Fuel, Powerhouse, Burlington, and Fat Daddy.
