Vernon author James Osborne signs seven-book contract

A Vernon author is taking writing to the next level with what he describes as a blockbuster contract with a multi-national book publisher.

James Osborne and Next Chapter Publishing have signed a seven-book contract starting with Osborne’s newly released international crime thriller, Prescription For Deception.

“I’m delighted. When Next Chapter accepted Prescription For Deception, I asked the company to consider my current novels. They invited me to submit and two weeks later we signed a long-term contract covering three new books and the re-release of my four current books,” Osborne said, adding other new titles will be a sequel to his thriller, The Ultimate Threat, which was an Amazon No. 1 bestseller, and a second short story collection called Adventures, a sequel to his award-winning first collection, Encounters.

Mikka Hannila, founder and CEO of Next Chapter said the multi-year contract provides for publication of all titles in soft cover, ebook and hardcover formats.

He said Osborne’s books are being posted on 10 high-end book marketing websites in Canada, the US, Australia, Italy and Japan, including Amazon, Apple Books, the Barnes & Noble chain in the US, Google Play and Kobo.

“We’re very pleased to have James Osborne join our Next Chapter family of authors,” Hannila said. “His work is a welcome addition that broadens the scope of offerings to our readers around the world.”

Next Chapter has offices in Britain, Japan, the US and Finland.

Prescription For Deception is the first book in a trilogy called The Secret Shepherd Conspiracies.
