John Max Neale: Perth tradie killed in Thailand during fight with British man

A Perth man has been killed during a fight with a British tourist in Thailand.

According to DailyMail Australia, tradie John Max Neale, 58, had been drinking with a 29-year-old United Kingdom national outside their accommodation in Bangkok’s south on September 27.

It is understood the pair began arguing and the British man punched Mr Neale, causing him to fall back and hit his head.

Paramedics were called to the scene about 4.30am and found Mr Neale without a pulse. He was rushed to Pattaya Memorial Hospital but could not be revived.

The suspect was taken to Pattaya City Police Station and continues denying involvement, but police major Tanongsak Inphadung says they have sufficient evidence.

“The suspect still denies the charges, but he cannot contest us because we have complete evidence,” Mr Inphadung said.

“We have security camera footage from the restaurant and four witnesses who drank together with them. They were all Thais.

“Tomorrow, we will request the court to detain him at Pattaya Remand Prison.

“He refused to say anything, even though we had an interpreter, and he will get a lawyer to defend the lawsuit.

“The suspect was drunk at the time. We need to wait for the autopsy results to see if the deceased was also drunk, but he was seen drinking for hours before the incident. They were tenants on the same floor.”

It remains unknown what sparked the fight.
