Lando Norris drops Tayto Crisps bombshell – leaving fans totally baffled

Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has left fans totally baffled after sharing a bizarre post about Tayto Crisps. The McLaren driver is currently in Singapore ahead of Sunday’s Grand Prix.

He took to social media today to share three pictures of himself travelling, but it was the caption that stole the spotlight. The British driver wrote: “The first crunch of tayto cheese and onion crisps.”

While Tayto cheese and onion crisps are a beloved treat in Ireland, it seems the 24-year-old’s fans were puzzled by the post.

One person wrote: “Sure Lando whatever that means.” Another added: “I have no idea what that caption was supposed to mean but i agree!!!”

A third commented: “nodding like i know what that means.” Someone else posted: “Sounds delicious enjoy it!” Another wrote: “bro yapping about tayto and onion crisps.”

Despite the confusion, Tayto enthusiasts also rallied behind Lando, who is currently P2 in the F1 Drivers’ Standings. One person wrote: “I absolutely love Tayto cheese and onion crisps! On my last visit to N. Ireland I had a tour of Tayto Castle, where the crisps are made, very interesting!”

Another commented: “Best cheese and onion crisps you can get!!” A third said: “Best crisps in the world.” Someone else commented: “ireland core what.”

This comes as McLaren will join Mercedes and RB in running a special livery at this weekend’s Grand Prix. Co-designed by McLaren and OKX, the Legend Reborn livery celebrates the MP4 era of McLaren from 1981 to 1996, blending the classic stripe design with McLaren’s papaya colour scheme “as a way of honouring the heritage of the team”.

It will be officially unveiled at an on-track event in Singapore, prior to the race weekend getting underway, with McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown and drivers Oscar Piastri as well as Lando in attendance.

The livery also honours legendary McLaren racers such as Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Niki Lauda, with the names of 13 iconic drivers from the era integrated into the livery on the cockpit.

The new livery drops a week after McLaren took the lead of the F1 constructors’ championship for the first time in a decade, with the UK-based team jumping ahead of Red Bull after Oscar’s win in Azerbaijan.
