Fujitsu Hong Kong Appointed as Stamford American School’s ICT Solutions Provider

Hong Kong, China, December 13, 2017 /ChinaNewswire.com/ - Fujitsu Hong Kong Limited today announced that it has been appointed by Stamford American School as its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) partner. Fujitsu will provide Stamford American School with an end-to-end ICT solution, encompassing consultancy, project management and system integration, to build state-of-the-art network and infrastructure of the new Stamford American School campus in Hong Kong, and pave the way for the digital learning journey.

As Stamford American School’s ICT partner, Fujitsu will provide infrastructure systems including PRIMERGY servers, ESPRIMO desktops, network equipment, security and AV infrastructure. Together with these high-performance and compatible equipment, a customized integration of infrastructure enhances the overall effectiveness of entire network. Fujitsu will also offer one-stop-shop project management services from consultancy, site assessment, implementation to ongoing support and onsite managed services.

Digitalization is driving the education sector towards a deep transformation, but many schools, colleges and universities are struggling to keep pace with this change, according to “The Road to Digital Learning”1, a new report from Fujitsu. Fujitsu Hong Kong understands the importance of creating a digital future for education, while Stamford American School shares the same aspiration of transforming education to provide students with the tools and skills to succeed in a predominantly digital world.

“Fujitsu Hong Kong is honored to be selected by Stamford American School as their technology partner to provide the end-to-end ICT solution. As a regional education hub with leading innovations, Hong Kong is the ideal place for international schools to build their campus. Fujitsu Hong Kong aspires to support and serve this elite education sector in the transformation journey through a co-creation approach,” said Leo Ng, General Manager, Sales Marketing, Fujitsu Hong Kong.

Stamford American School, a world-class international school for students five to 18 of age instills an enthusiasm for lifelong learning along with the necessary skills to prepare students for the challenges and changes throughout their life. As a school that places a strong emphasis on digital literacy, innovation and STEM education, Stamford American School wanted to introduce computing capability to develop a progressive learning environment for students. Following an evaluation process and assessment, the school appointed Fujitsu as the ICT solutions provider.

“As a new school in Hong Kong and with a sister school in Singapore, we strive to provide a secured and advanced educational experience for all of our students. A strong support for state-of-the-art ICT infrastructure and services is crucial. We selected Fujitsu as our ICT service provider as they showed their expertise and proactive management. They fully understand our needs with out-of-the-box thinking and are flexible with allocating resources to tackle the complex project,” said Marlon Arenas, Head of Information Communication and Technology, Stamford American School.

Fujitsu and Stamford American School share the same vision and anticipate to use leading technology to shape a better future for students. The right connection, a secure network and simple, robust devices are the three elements that make up the foundation of digital learning. “The Road to Digital Learning” report reveals that 94% of establishments with leadership teams in Hong Kong are focused on digital learning, with 90% of respondents invested in wireless network, 82% in 2-in-1 devices/notebooks and 79% in tablet devices. These findings show that digital learning is becoming more critical in Hong Kong, with a focus on connectivity, devices as well as security.

However, 66% of respondents are concerned about limited IT resources and less than half of the students or teachers are “excellent” or “good” in terms of digital literacy. Therefore, Fujitsu Hong Kong strives to narrow the gap between the ambitions of education establishments striving for digital transformation, and the reality of today’s classroom learning.

“Digital technology brings so many opportunities to education. At Fujitsu, we strongly believe that if we want to prepare our children for the digital future, we have to improve digital literacy in the school, with ongoing collaboration between the technology and education sectors,” said Mr. Ng.
