Chinese B2C e-commerce website Dangdang.com and Alibaba’s B2C Internet shopping site Tmall.com have jointly announced that Dangdang.com has opened a flagship store on Tmall.com, selling books and daily commodities.

With this move, Dangdang.com’s 800,000 kinds of books and 300,000 kinds of daily commodities will be available on Tmall.com. At present, this flagship store is in its trial operation.

In addition, Dangdang.com’s special services, including cash on delivery in 800 cities, delivery on next day in 150 cities, and returns, will also be available for its flagship store on Tmall.com.

Starting from 2012, Dangdang.com launched a new strategy that implements a wide range of cooperation. So far, the B2C website has formed strategic partnerships with Gome, Tencent’s online shopping site, Letao.com, Jiuxian.com, Belle, and Tmall.com.

With the cooperation, Dangdang.com will improve its sales and lower its marketing costs; while Tmall.com is expected to expand its platform capacity.

Tmall.com announced its open B2C strategy in September 2011. So far, 87 independent B2C websites have entered its platform.
