Chinese search engine Baidu and TCL jointly announced the launch of a new TCL smartphone S710, which will have Baidu’s cloud smart terminal platform.

The new product will be available to consumers in China on September 10, 2012.

This is reportedly the third smartphone product launched by Baidu in cooperating with mobile phone makers, following its cooperation with Dell and Changhong.

TCL S710 will be available in three colors: black, white, and pink. It has a 1G dual-core A9 processor and its operating system is Baidu’s cloud platform based on Android 4.0. Other features include a 4.3-inch IPS capacitive touch screen, both front and rear cameras, SRS surround stereo sound, and DLNA audio and video wireless transmission.

Based on the Android 4.0 system, Baidu’s cloud smart terminal platform is a local optimized platform. It also provides voice search service.

At the end of 2012, Baidu teamed with Dell in the launch of a smartphone. In May 2012, the Chinese search engine company launched its second smartphone product with Changhong and this product also carried Baidu’s cloud operating system. A representative from Baidu cloud mobile phone revealed to local media that the company plans to cooperate with more makers to launch new smartphones in China this year.
