Dangdang.com Outsources Internet Alcoholic Beverages Sales To Jiuxian.com In China

Chinese B2C e-commerce website Dangdang.com and Chinese alcoholic-oriented e-commerce website Jiuxian.com jointly announced that Jiuxian.com has become the exclusive operator of Dangdang.com’s alcoholic beverages channel.

This is Dangdang.com’s new move to divest itself of non-core businesses, and it recently completed outsourcing the operation of its home appliances and 3C businesses to Gome.

With the cooperation, Jiuxian.com will provide warehousing, logistics and after-sales services for Dangdang.com’s liquor products. Meanwhile, Dangdang.com’s alcoholic beverage products will have the same prices, inventory information, and promotions as those on Jiuxian.com.

A representative from Jiuxian.com said that the cooperation is expected to bring annual sales of CNY500 million. Prior to this, Hao Hongfeng, chief executive officer of Jiuxian.com, told local media that the company’s sales in 2011 were CNY500 million and it aimed at CNY2 billion in 2012.
