Mecox Lane Limited, operator of the Chinese apparel and accessories e-commerce website M18.com, has announced plans to open its logistics platform and share it with other e-commerce operators in the country.
This new move is expected to increase Mecox Lane’s income while reducing the distribution costs of the company and its partners.
So far, Mecox Lane has established warehouses in key e-commerce markets, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. It is also building a 120,000-square-meter operating center in Wujiang, Jiangsu province. According to Mecox Lane, after the launch of this operating center, its warehouse capacity will reach 600,000 stock keeping units and its daily delivery will be up to 130,000 orders.
In addition, the company started several measures in 2011 to accelerate its delivery speed. At present, it can delivery goods to customers in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou on the following day after receiving the orders; for provincial capitals, the average delivery circle is 2.3 days; and for the entire country, the average delivery circle is 2.8 days.
