China’s Maxthon Pushes Internet Browser Into USA
Chinese Internet browser company Maxthon has announced the establishment of its U.S. branch in Silicon Valley, focusing on the technical research and marketing of its software.
This is reportedly part of Maxthon’s efforts to promote its internationalization.
According to official information from the company, its U.S. subsidiary started operation last month and it is commanded by Chen Mingjie, chief executive officer of Maxthon. However, the company did not disclose the scale of the subsidiary or the name of the local director.
Created in 2004, Maxthon now has launched its browser in 37 different languages and it has tens of millions of users in 120 countries and regions around the world. According to the company’s statistics for the first quarter of 2011, Maxthon had exceeded Safari on computers with Windows operating systems in the European Union region, making it the fifth largest browser brand in the world.
