Chinese online game developer and operator Perfect World has signed an agreement to acquire a 100% stake in C&C Media, a Japanese online game operator, for USD21 million.
C&C Media is originally owned by Atlus, a Japanese computer and video game developer, publisher, and distributor. With the acquisition, C&C Media will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Perfect World.
Chi Yufeng, chairman and CEO of Perfect World said that they are glad to acquire C&C Media. This strategic acquisition will help the company further develop the Japanese online game market and effectively expand their overseas operating capacity. Meanwhile, this is another major achievement of the company and it marks a major step for the company to become a leading online game company around the world.
Founded in June 2001, C&C Media currently operates an online-game-themed Internet portal called MK-Style, providing online games and related services to individual users.
